Screenprinted Teamwear by PSM Playmore Sportswear
The Screenprinting Process.
From camera ready artwork our staff produce a screen. The screen is a perforated membrane which uses a woven mesh to support an ink blocking stencil. One screen applies one single colour print at any one time and multiple prints require multiple screens. We attach the screen to the carousel machinery ready for printing. The attached screen forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink as a sharp-edged image onto a garment. A roller is moved across the screen stencil forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas. The design is transferred onto the garment. A catalyst within the ink hardens the design which is assisted by spot curing or the garments are placed through an industrial drier. The garments are then sent to our Quality Control Department.
Screen Originations
To enable a design to be printed onto a garment / item we would need to originate a screen (1 colour print) or screens (2 colours or more), the costs for these are detailed below.

Artwork Charges
Wherever possible, we will minimise any charges for the generation of artwork to be used as part of your order. However, where a reasonable amount of work is involved or our workload is particularly high we reserve the right to impose a one off artwork charge at the managers discretion. Customers will always be advised in advance of any charges. Artwork created in-house is wholly owned by PSM Sportswear and if necessary can be released for a nominal fee.
Digital Artwork
Wherever possible, we always prefer to work from first generation digital artwork that our customers have created. For your reference, we can accept files from Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and most other popular applications. Customers working in any other programmes should save their work in a generic file format such as TIFF, J-PEG or EPS. Apple Mac users should save their work as IBM TIFF. We can read files from most common forms of media.
Please ensure that all fonts are embedded.
Once these processes have been completed the screen can be set-up, which allows a screenprint to be applied to a garment / item.
